The South African Air Force Association

hosts a Benefit Concert for ex-servicemen

The Cape Town branch of the South African Air Force Association (SAAFA), will host a benefit concert on Saturday, 4 September 2010, at 7pm in the City Hall, Cape Town, to raise much-needed funds for economically disadvantaged ex-servicemen and  women of all races, who live in this area.

Leading South African artists will perform.  The line-up includes the SA Navy Band, the Cape Town Highlanders Pipe Band, the Cape Town Male Voice Choir, Beverley Chiat, soprano, Matthew Overmeyer, tenor and Victor Tichardt, organist.  Well known radio announcer and compère, Lesley McKenzie will be the master of ceremonies.

Tickets for this event are on sale at Computicket at R90 per person.  Uniformed Air Force personnel will ensure secure parking on the Grand Parade.

John Heath, organiser of this event and member of SAAFA, says: “We hope Capetonians with their customary generosity will support this gala event.

“Funds are urgently required to support many ex-servicemen and women who defended this country courageously in the line of duty, and who now face impoverishment, due to the economic recession.”
